In addition to a thorough knowledge and expertise in family and civil law, I also believe the 418th requires a judge with the right temperament. Specifically, a judge should exhibit an environment of fairness for all persons who come before the court. In my experience, this is accomplished by treating everyone with courtesy, dignity and respect. In short, I feel my upbringing and family values have instilled in me these very qualities.

As stated elsewhere on this website, I was raised right here in Montgomery County. My parents and brother still live in this area, and we remain very close. Growing up, we were quite active in the First Baptist Church of Conroe. Through my family and church, I learned my faith and was taught the importance of treating others the way I would want to be treated.

My wife, Mary, was also raised in Montgomery County since she was 5 years old. She was my "high school sweetheart," and we have been married over twelve years. We have three children: ages 11, 8 and 3. Mary's parents (and most of her siblings) are still local, and also remain very close. She was raised in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe. My wife and I now attend, and have long been members of,The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Here we strive to raise our children in a Christian environment.

Other than my faith in God, I can think of nothing more important to me than my family. It is this simple reality that I believe would be most useful to lead a "family law" court. Certainly a special knowledge of the law and the right temperament are extremely important, but in short, I would always consider the significance of family and the protection of children as judge of the 418th District Court, and I would always strive to treat others fairly.

Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.   II Chronicles 19:6.
